Year: 2008 Site: Isola di Albarella (RO) Client: Private Service required: planning and artistic supervision
The double front of the allotment on water brought to split the building in three volumes connected with each other, in order to comply with the lining up around. The maximum permeability between indoor and outdoor is achieved through wide glass-walls, the continuity of flooring, the heights and the materials of finish. Each one of the three bodies is in connection with the landscape through a different approach, depending on its orientation, the kind of landscape which it overlooks and its function: The western body, in connection with the most natural part of the isle, hosts the living quarters on a single floor almost wholly made of glass-walls. The access central body, with its double height, builds the hinge allowing the articulation and the lining up of the other two bodies. The eastern body, the most far from the channel, has the most walls and hosts on its two floors the sleeping quarters and the bathrooms. In this perspective, the house builds the first filter and the head toward the buildings of the whole isle. Considering that the privileged view is the one from water and from the bikeway beyond the channel, the roof has been drawn with a bending shape which integrates gracefully into the landscape recalling not just a kind of building but the shape of the natural sand dunes of Adriatic coast.
Renovation of a private house with indoor swimming-pool
Year: 2005 Renovation of a private house with indoor swimming-pool Site: Colli Berici, Vicenza Client: Private Service required: planning and supervision of works, plan of the garden
The renovation of a villa of the seventies and the realization of an indoor swimming-pool starts from the intention to harmonize the existing building and the new one with nature. The new volumes are partially under the level of the hill. Garage and bathroom have been redrawn as the new basement swimming pool, opening toward the valley with wide glass-walls and toward the mountains with two dormer windows of steel and glass on the roof, which frame some views of big trees rising from the steep hill. Home and swimming-pool are connected with a long passage underground, made interesting by the bending of walls toward the hill and by the sunlight filtering through the roof-window of the solarium-terrace. The dominating theme is water, sea and marine architecture in particular, recalled by colors, materials and architectural elements: blue of mosaics - drawn each single tessera - round roof windows, stainless steel, and the shape of the ceiling of lamellar wood. Year: 2004 Site: Isola di Albarella (RO) Client: Private Service required: preliminary plan
The plan foresees the introduction of three villas on a ground facing the lagoon. The modulation of volumes and prospects aims to create an ensemble integrated into the environmental context, considering its overlooking, views and orientation. Particular care has been paid to the planimetric organization and to the organization of the openings, to the safeguard of privacy of single dwellings far 10 meters from each other.
Year: 2000 Site: V.le Verona, Vicenza Client: Private Service required: planning and supervision of works
The building lays on a critical and much degraded context, included among a road with congested traffic, the railway and the railway bridge, on an allotment with a difficult management of surfaces and views. Conceived as a small tower of brickwork, it couples the minimal expense with a good result of performance and image through an interplay of full volumes where some bow-windows open on the main street lending indoor width and light. The building consists of 7 studio apartments, a shopping unit on the first floor and an underground garage.
Year: 2002 Site: Colli Berici, Vicenza Client: Private Service required: planning and supervision of works
The renovation of a villa of the seventies starts from the intention to harmonize the existing volume of the house with nature. The new rooms are partially under the hill level, while the dwelling building was connected with the surrounding greenery through the reorganization of the porch, veranda, the openings and the views on the garden as well as through the elimination of the step between outside and inside area. Indoor rooms have been reorganized and materials given new shape: floor of teak, marble-like walls, transparent walkways of glass and steel, white, yellow and red marble from Asiago. Rooms were featured with materials and solutions complying with the different requests by the members of the family.
