CENTRO PALLADIO - WIDENING
BUILDING DETAILS
Year: 2001
Site: Vicenza
Client: Private
Building area: widening sqm 25,000 - overall complex sqm 58,000
Service required: architectural planning and interior design, supervision of works

The centre, realized by the firm in 1994 was widened on double galleries with shops of medium surfaces for an overall area of the complex of 58,000 sqm.
The plan of widening considered some essential problems: during the planning, the need of innovation of the complex should not create imbalance with the existing building, during the building site, the need to keep the centre open without interruptions.
A big mall with double height marks the core of the widening with a big glass-wall facing toward a waterway and a green outdoor area. The plan aims to make comfortable the way indoor in the hot and cold months, typical of Italian northern-eastern climate, keeping as long as possible the natural effect lent by the light coming from the top and from the wide glass-wall.
