12-05-2024 - Marcella Gabbiani participates in the event "Città in scena" (Cities on Stage), the Festival of Urban Regeneration

"Città in scena" (Cities on Stage), the urban regeneration festival promoted by Ance, Associazione Mecenate 90 and Fondazione Musica per Roma, will be held in Rome from 4 to 6 December 2024 at the Parco della Musica.

Three days of meetings, presentations and debates with industry experts on the theme of urban regeneration and redevelopment.

The aim is to promote and showcase the strong planning capabilities of Italian cities, particularly medium-sized ones, which are demonstrating ways and models for transforming our country in the direction of inclusion, sustainability and resilience, often using culture and the arts as an informing element in these processes.

The Gabbiani & Associati Studio, invited to the Festival, will participate in the round table discussion "La città pubblica" (The Public City) at 12.30 pm on Thursday 5 December, moderated by Luigi Schiavo, National Vice-President of ANCE Opere Pubbliche, where Marcella Gabbiani will present the urban regeneration plan for Campo Marzo in Vicenza, designed in collaboration with the Ermentini studio in Crema.
The project proposes a mosaic of solutions for the redevelopment of Campo Marzo, the large thousand-year-old park on the outskirts of Vicenza's historic centre, which has been showing clear signs of deterioration for years.
The Campo, in a global vision, is identified as a central urban system, overlooked by the entire city.
The project addresses the main issues of urban interest:
- local public and private transport, slow transport and crossings;
- connections to the railway station, the high-speed line and related park-and-ride facilities;
- outdoor activities, sport and exercise, play, walking;
- safety, lighting, services, connections and gates;
- commercial, tertiary and residential functions, services;
- street furniture, equipment and materials to be used;
- enhancement of green spaces, trees and water, improving the quality of urban life and the microclimate.

With these considerations in mind, the project identifies 10 locations for urban regeneration, which constitute the focal points on which the most incisive proposals are defined and concentrated. These also coincide with 10 lots for intervention, on the basis of which the Administration has set up a broad programme for raising financial resources, most of which has already been implemented, with the awarding of the relevant contracts for works.
