Exhibit Madonne del Quirinale

  • Year: 2011
  • Site: Palazzo del Quirinale, Rome
  • Client: A.R.P.A.I. Association for the Restoration of Italian Artistic Heritage
  • Service required: planning and construction supervision

The exhibition, curated by Louis Godart and held in the Sale delle Bandiere of the Quirinale Palace, presents two paintings entitled "Madonna with Child", one property of the Diocese of Fiesole, attributed to Filippo Brunelleschi and a second, created by Jacopo Tatti the Sansovino, coming from the Civic Museums of Vicenza.
Alongside the two masterpieces are presented some works derived from them, intended for different clients.
The set-up almost completely hides the rooms in which the exhibition is hosted, in order not to distract the visitor's attention from the works on display in any way. Also the floors were covered with light-colored carpet, the ceilings concealed by light-colored semi-transparent canvas panels and the backdrops painted in black.
A great attention was paid to the lights that tell the precious details of the works on display. The only color present in the set-up is light purple, a backdrop for the display panels which, with discreet lighting, creates an intimate and contemplative atmosphere.
The set-up, characterized by maximum simplicity, is aimed at creating a path whose culmination is constituted by the works, in a setting that tries to recreate around them a circumscribed and domestic architectural environment.
